Oculus had been using their social channels to promote game and product sales, but never to engage with the community or respond to cultural moments. My partner and I were brought in to run all creative for a beta program that would change that. One trend we identified were reaction videos of people in VR. Horror games were by far the most popular. Halloween was fast approaching in a year when haunted houses, hayrides and trick or treating were not an option. We began teasing with text only posts that lead to the release of the launch video. After a few weeks of resharing and engaging with followers we picked the favorites for a compilation.
